Many people believe videos games play a huge role in violence, ranging from the President of the United States all the way to my mother. There's a huge percentage of gamers in the world, 94% of gamers are between the ages of 12-17 in the United States alone, contributing almost $12 billion dollars to the gaming industry on a bimonthly basis. There are many arguments accusing video games to be the source of school shootings, the increased numbers in bullying and even violence towards authority figures and animals.\n\nThere have been many tests on this topic here have also been many psychology tests about this topic. Studies have shown that many mass shooters have played violent video games. Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in Norway back in 2011 admitted to using Modern Warfare 2 as practice. \n\nEven big content creators and video game advocates such as PewDiePie have spoken out about this claim. Advocates have said violent video games provide a safe method of releasing anger, but this isn't enough evidence for other groups who are against violent video games.\n\nIn my personal opinion, video games aren't the only source of entertainment that could potentially lead to violence. Violent movies play a part too. You cannot blame one source of entertainment and not the others.\n\nIn conclusion, what do you think of the arguments about violent video games leading to crimes? Do you think they cause violence or not? Leave your opinions in the reply box below!
